I have been privileged to live in Harris Township for 42 years. I grew up in an historic home completed in 1830 which overlooks the village of Boalsburg. I now live near Shingletown in a log cabin built in the 1930s. My wife, Lisa, and I have two children in their 20s.
I am the alumni relations manager in the College of the Liberal Arts at Penn State—part of the Dean’s 15-person advancement team. I truly enjoy my job involving alumni in the life of the College through student mentoring, awards and recognition, and volunteer boards. I also teach indoor cycling (spinning) and yoga part-time for Penn State Fitness. Previously, I worked in the energy business in Texas and in outdoor education and recreation in Massachusetts and New York.
I bicycle to work spring to fall. In my spare time I work on home restoration projects. I garden, hunt, backpack, canoe camp, and play in a cover band.
Volunteer leadership experience includes:
· Chairman, Staff–Parish Relations Committee, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church
· Chairman, Directors of Penn State Alumni Relations professional development group
· Member, Board of Directors, State College Community Theatre
· Coach, Centre Soccer Association
Other experience includes:
· Member, State College Community Theatre
· Member, Essence II community choir
· Member, Jackie Brown & the Gill Street Band
